Market position
Offers a broad product family built on hardware heritage spun out of Samsung Electro-Mechanics. The Newton series spans 1 inch to 32 inches. The Newton PRO datasheet (Rev 1.0, 2024) states IP68 protection, a seven-colour LED, FeliCa NFC Type-3 and 128-bit AES encryption across the whole family, together with a proprietary protocol over the BLE physical layer in the 2.4 GHz ISM band and a 30 m line-of-sight range.
Strengths
- The widest product family in the sector (1 to 32 inches)
- IP68 protection and a seven-colour LED as standard across the entire Newton PRO family
- Freezer, industrial and full-colour variants on the same platform
- IoT expansion through sensor labels and BLE trackers
- A detailed, publicly accessible datasheet - one of the easiest manufacturers to verify
Points to watch
- Model naming (Pro / Core+ / X / Extreme / Industrial) is complex - choosing the right variant takes care
- The Core+ and X lines do not share the IP68 and LED features of the Pro family; do not mistake the cheaper variant for a Pro
- Full-colour models sit in the premium price band and have long refresh times
